TODAY’S BUZZ TIP | February 18, 2009
We all know that green is the new black. Everyone is getting on the eco-friendly bandwagon and for good reason. Not only is it good for the environment, it’s also good PR. Going green has lots of benefits including saving you tons of money on printing costs. So hit send instead of print, and soon you’ll be as good as you look.
ENR: An electronic news release is much more eco- friendly than a traditional press release. You can add images, link to your website and add many other user friendly/image enhancing features. Send it via email, distribute via newswire services such as , PR Underground, etc, and post on all the social networking sites.
EPKs: Instead of a printed press kit, develop an EPK (Electronic Press Kit). It’s a cool, visual way to package your news and message. More on EPKs in an upcoming Buzz.
Catalogs and Look Books: Forget about printing your catalog and instead email via a zip file to your customers and the press. And remember to give them the option to request a hard copy. Many editors still like the tactile version for their files.
Now just think of all the money you will save on printing…now that’s what I call a great green strategy.
And please, don’t print this Buzz! : )
