Guerilla Marketing: Picture Postcard

TODAY’S BUZZ TIP | May 19, 2009

I love to make suggestions that don’t cost you much money.  Take for instance guerilla marketing, which was the subject of a previous Buzz.  I promised you more guerilla marketing tips so here you are.

Guerilla Marketing is all about grassroots, straight to the people, kind of promotion.  One of the easiest and cheapest ways to promote your product, site, service, etc. is to design a postcard and distribute it far and wide.  For instance, for an industry conference one of my clients designed a postcard for distribution at the event.  The postcard was simple yet very graphic…with only the website and a tagline as text.  For a little over $200, 5000 postcards were printed.  Not bad, huh?  The client went to the conference, met with tons of people and potential new clients, and handed them all postcards.

There are so many places you can distribute your postcards.  Basically, you can distribute your postcards in any public space and you can even get a couple of students do it for you.  You know, sometimes it’s good to just get out there into the fray.  Cyberspace is a lonely place sometimes.
