The fashion world is gearing up for what is turning into the biggest fashion event of the year, Fashion’s Night Out 2010. What began as an idea by Anna Wintour, editor in chief of Vogue, and designer Diane Von Furstenberg last year as a way to boost retail sales, is turning out to be the biggest kickoff of the Fall shopping season.
Last year retailers and designers who participated reported a major uptick in sales on that first fateful night and this year the anticipation and buzz is even greater. The night is slated for September 10 during Fashion Week here in NY and will take place on a global scale. Two of my clients French Sole and Coclico are participating. They each have stores in the City where we are planning major events to draw in the crowds. Are any of you participating in FNO? If so, tell me about. Would love to feature some of your FNO ideas. And if you don’t have a store, here or anywhere else in the world, you can still participate. If you are a designer then team up with one of your retailers and partner for the evening. Coclico is doing exactly that with one of the brands they sell in the store.
Join the fun. Go to Fashion’s Night Out for more information and to register.
